cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (all i do the whole day through)

It first happened when I read The Last Hero that I thought, "Hey, Ponder and Ridcully make a pretty funny double-act. You could almost see slash of them, haha! Yeah, right."

Then I read Unseen Academicals and it changed to "Wow, you could definitely read Ponder/Ridcully into this, if the idea weren't unappealing!"

Then I reread Going Postal and Making Money and it became "Well, it wouldn't be totally bad. Like, if it was just - you know - because their relationship - it's really rather sweet..."

And now I'm rereading Soul Music (which contains the first appearance of Hex, as well as a running joke about Wales, both of which I had forgotten) and I've accidentally come around to "I would totally read that."

Why is it always like this?

I once wrote Ponder/Bursar. It hurt my brain.

Hahahahaha, T'Pau saying YO is pretty awesome too. I've got one of Ringo and George Harrison, and George is doing some sort of awkward thing with his hands that kinda looks like a gang sign, so the caption is Gangsta Yo. IDEK, the iconmaker just had a stroke of genius.

Yeah, I would totally read that too. There probably was a slippery slope somewhere but mine isn't so well-documented--in any case, I know their relationship didn't instantly tickle my fancy.

The only way to settle this is a flamewar.

I know you don't know me, but -
I didn't have a slippery slope. Some part of my brain just started cackling the moment Vimes was referred to as 'Vetinari's Terrier', and then there was porn. Terrible, terrible porn. From there it sort of spread. I read Monstrous Regiment, and - well, that's probably enough said right there, huh?
Anyway - join ussss, it's bliiiissss.
