Oh wait, I remember what the problem was. They don't carry their shoes in my size. :( Apparently tall girls don't deserve awesome shoes, sob sob sob.

You are THAT tall? Wow! *_* Amazing! But what a bummer for you. On the other hand, it means you could just buy vintage men's dress shoes straight up, which is something I have often wanted to do, rather than looking fruitlessly for retro remakes.

:) I'm 5'10" (which isn't SUPER tall), but I have a size 11 foot which isn't exceptionally large for my height. Men's 9 is far easier to find than women's 11, sadly.

You are standard fashion model minimum height, anyway, if you believe Tyra Banks! But yes, that size must be a fairly normal (albeit I think still well below the average) men's size. I remember that my mom and dad (fairly tiny for a dude, heh) were size 10W/8M and my mom would try on the shoes she was going to buy for my dad because he refused to shop for himself. In most matters, it's easy to shop unisex, but heels are a definite exception, aren't they? It's not that you can't find shoes that large, it's that the easiest ones tend to be aimed at drag queens, and they don't really mix well with an ordinary wardrobe.

yes, exactly. It's funny - most of the really high end stores carry their shoes in size 11 and most of the low end stores carry their shoes in size 11. I just can't shop in the middle, which is too bad because sometimes I want to spend $50 on a pair of shoes instead of $10 or $125. :( But! Zappos is my friend because I can just sort by size and price.

Yeah, that'd kill me. I HATE spending high-end amounts on shoes (unless you're talking something whose materials justify the price, like tall leather boots, or wooden heels). But then when you buy the really cheap ones, they're usually low quality, and probably not very comfortable, either.
