I would bet that the straps are not adjustable, since there's a zipper on the inside. Also both of those conditions are normal for that price point in shoe quality.

I had a very similar pair of Madden Girl boots and they were so cute, pretty damn comfortable, and TERRIBLE quality. The fake leather frayed. They scuffed, they leaked. Awful.

My shoes from Target last much longer, and that's not a high bar.

Oh, didn't realize the quality was that bad! I was comparing them to other department store shoes. I've never owned any Steve Madden.

Steve Madden the main brand is fine, but Madden Girl is very much one-season fashion shoes. It's really a shame, because I loved the style on the ones I had and I haven't been able to find anything like it in a more durable brand.

Maybe I should go to Fluevog and design my own. :)
