it was the mission of the children today to annoy me. every ten minutes they wanted my computer for solitaire for three to five. i couldn't say, 'would you mind, because fraser and ray k are about to have sex?', now could i. and on the whole i suppose i'd rather have the computer with me. stay well away from children with hoses, though, shall we just say? god. >.< he is SO lucky he's paying $8 an hour.

on the extremely positive side, i've got two new ds stories to rec (both mailed to me by the button-cute [livejournal.com profile] southpaw526), as soon as i find them online, and two new authors to devour. which was good, because as [livejournal.com profile] cara_chapel mentioned a month ago, the prevailing pattern of broken phrases and sentences in smallville is already starting to drive me batshit and i'm not even all the way through [livejournal.com profile] seperis's ouevre.

you know, now that you mention it, ditto. I believe it originates with Te. you mean the "He. Was. Wearing. Pink. Lipstick." thing?

it's the same kind of trend as the weird punctuation thing in 'nsync. the Helen punctuation, as I like to call it. of which I'm also guilty, because it's so damned contagious. (replacing ellipses or an m-dash with a full stop in the middle of a sentence ; not capitalising the first word of a sentence, etc etc. ["I thought you were. gay." "but." etc etc]).

you get that when some BNF starts writing and eeeeeeverybody digs it. I can even gently scold myself over having started the rather upsetting and ubiquitous trend of second person stories with Dry-cleaning. >.< I thought I was being original, and now if you read it, it's just like every other story in the fandom. ::sigh::

well, it was pretty original, but perhaps unfortunately for you, you didn't actually invent it and it was fairly easy to replicate...

my poor darling.
