cimorene: minimal cartoon stick figure on the phone to the Ikea store, smiling in relief (call ikea)

We've got a bunch of those big clear storage bins and every time I'm getting ready to go to Ikea or the hardware store I carefully make a list of how many I think I need, then add one or two more to it, and every time within a week or so I find two more bins' worth of stuff with nowhere to go. The library is in danger of developing a wall of stacked bins in addition to the wall of built-in cabinets and the bins on top of the bookcase.

Are storage bins habit-forming, or is this one of those iron laws of the universe, like always forgetting one thing that you meant to put on the shopping list?

Every couple of weeks my spouse will say "I need to go to OfficeWorks for more plastic bins", so I'm definitely starting to think it's habit-forming... (But they're so handy!)

Have you read the IKEA maker's biography?

I do not now remember who wrote it, but the maker is Swedish with German roots.

Yep, I get you. We're 4 people in a 2.5 person-sized house. There's a Container Store near my work, I think I will go over this week because we are out of storage bins, yet again
