
Herbin Poussière de Lune fountain pen ink in a Platinum Preppy 03F fountain pen. Also used: Speedball C-4 dip pen nib and detail brush dipped in water

I saw a review of this ink a few months ago and ordered it immediately, and it’s been in one of my daily use pens since then. I never get tired of this color, which is one of my favorite hues, and it has a beautiful shading and, soothingly, is just slightly muted, which makes for pleasing ease of reading blocks of text. A rich purple that shades to a mauvey tinge and a rich dark eggplant color, it’s reminiscent of red wine. It has written smoothly in every pen I’ve put it in. As you can see, when painted over with a brush in water it turns to a lovely fresh lilac pink. It nearly vanishes under water droplets, rather amusingly as you can see at the bottom of the page above. And the ink drops at the top are so inky they practically look black.
It does not have any sheen, and looks almost identical on Tomoe River paper and Rhodia dotpad:
