Diamine Claret fountan pen ink on Tomoe River paper with Jinhao 599 M and Rotring Artpen 2.3 mm italic.
One of the first fountain pen inks I bought, Diamine Claret is a smooth, reliable magenta color - in the red wine family, a touch lighter than a bordeaux, with hints of pinkness that shade out eventually into a cherry blossom color. It’s neither noticeably dry nor noticeably wet, and has a striking amount of shading that’s easily visible in ordinary handwriting. Very pleasant to look at, but too bright/distracting for daily writing to my mind.
