I have finished going through the archive for real this time (I know I said it before, but I went back through the first few pages just to make sure after that).

A reluctant Methos can't quite resist Duncan's Bambi eyes, but he accompanies capitulation with complaints and scowls. Later, Duncan has a realization and everything gets dramatic, romantic, and exceedingly schmoopy, in a way that seems to encapsulate a great deal of the fic in this fandom.

Kat Allison has a reputation for sad endings, but I think this is more of an open ended and not unhopeful character study. It's sad for Duncan, obviously, though.
