Wax and I are understandably trepidatious of beginning the task of removing and restoring all thirty-something* windows in our house. But the house has decided for us.
The putty holding the glass into the frame is peeling away from the outer pane of one of the bedroom windows so it's an emergency. We don't have time to restore it before winter because of how long it takes to cure and dry putty and linseed oil paint, but we're going to have to start as soon as it gets warm again next spring.
So I've been forced to order a window restoring kit, and in Wax's second stretch of two week vacation in a few weeks we will have to make our first attempts on one of the less important windows from the enclosed porch.
*There are twelve quadrilateral holes in the house filled with panes of glass in the downstairs and nine upstairs, but unfortunately, most of them are traditional double glazed windows with two (independent) panes of glass. The downstairs ones mostly contain four windows - ie individual objects that will have to be separately removed and treated - while two of the ones upstairs contain six each. On the plus side, each window only has one pane of glass, so no delicate little muntins.

Wax's wfh office a few weeks ago with one of the upstairs triple windows (6 because double) above the heteka; and the front of the house showing the kitchen window (two main panes and two side panes that open for ventilation), complete with Anubis, on the right
