No, see, you misunderstood me. It actually is a secret message, but not about Dom and Elijah. It's a warning that Dom's alien leaders are massing to destroy the Earth.

Let me elaborate. The "trees" is a clear reference to the Ents in TTT (and also to Macbeth - Burnham (sp?) Wood coming to Dunsinane, which also is rock-solid evidence that he and Sean Bean are gay lovers, but that is a side issue and need not detain us). It carries within it the secondary implication of being unable to see the forest for the trees - i.e., while we are concentrating on a narrow issue (who Dom is shagging), a greater issue (the fact that Dom is an advance scout for an alien species bent on universal DOM-ination, and in his very name we have a clue and a warning) is being overlooked.

The Ents, of course, represent the destruction of technology so advanced that we dared think of ourselves as gods, to borrow a phrase (at some point in the next month, by the way, Dom will wear green, and you will see that I have spoken the truth. He told me this in my oatmeal this morning). It is a clear warning: The trees (i.e., a much older and powerful civilization) have been dormant, but they are now coming for you, and they are really, really pissed. The logic is impeccable.
