Date: 25 Feb 2003 05:02 pm (UTC)Should I start putting "please do not index" warnings on anything I post? They will all go away in a week or so because I'm just mooching my parents' webspace and eventually they'd notice. Anyhow, it is the land of sunshine :)
Also, *happydance* for new Star Trek story!

Date: 26 Feb 2003 05:39 am (UTC)"Wrath of Kahn" takes place fifteen years after "Space Seed". That's season 1, so presumably is a year or so ahead of the events in "The Deadly Years", when, as noted, he's 34. So, depending on where his birthday falls, his 33rd or 34th birthday falls in the year of "Space Seed".

Date: 26 Feb 2003 06:27 am (UTC)i can go with 48, though. i have him turning 45 in the story i'm working on--but then where does that place the end of STTMP? i thought i had that worked out to 41 or 42.

Date: 26 Feb 2003 12:19 pm (UTC)2233 - James Kirk is born, in Iowa on Earth, on March 22. (This is based on The Deadly Years)
2271 - STTMP (making him... 38 then)
...Then they do go on another 5-year mission, according to conjecture, returning in 2276...
2277 - Spock accepts command of the Enterprise
2281 - Kirk retires from Starfleet
2284 - Kirk returns to Starfleet as an instructor
2285 - STII - WoK - 'Admiral James Kirk celebrates his 52nd birthday.'
You probably didn't want half that info, but there you have it. Never reveal your need for details to a Trek Geek(tm). ^____^
