kitten_head. don't really remember it anymore, though. i did a lot of sewing last night. i took in a pair of cotton trousers printed with red leaves and tablets of chinese characters for lillian (who's been using my hairbrush and getting it absolutely NASTY because she doesn't wash her hair enough, and it's full of white hairs and bits of fuzz and EWW). then i took in the sides and back of a navy cotton peacoat, which is really just a shell, very light, but looked stupid all baggy on me. then i took this gauze dress that is supposed to be floor-length on someone two sizes larger than me but only comes to just above the ankle because i have long legs, and cut the skirt off at a sharp angle and took the underlayer in at the sides. unfortunately, when i tried it on, i discovered i'd cut it too short on one side of the back. (when i bent over it showed my underwear. like a lot. oops.) distress! but i tried it on over my wool dress pants and it looks rather tunicy, so it's okay. i have this rather plain and conservative turquoise cotton dress made of fabric i batiked myself four years ago (well, more like five) but i'd never finished the hem or the neck or sleeveholes, so i wrestled with that for a long time and made some stupid mistakes. i'd finally gotten it to like mostly flat and i was going to iron the hem in and the iron doesn't work--fuckers. i've got some navy and hunter plaid linen to make something out of, too, and a white thing that used to be one leg of some really ugly pants which i'm going to make a skirt out of. i'm thinking of finishing it off with mismatched buttons at one hip for fastening instead of a zipper or a drawstring.
i went to bed at 12:30 last night and woke up at 7, so i definitely foresee some napping. also, wtf is with this weather? ::steals long-sleeved shirts from parents::
AND! mom bought me [frozen] cream puffs last night. also ghirardelli brownie mix (me: it's not brownies. it's brownie MIX. mom: i don't have time to make brownies from scratch! ...it's better than nothing). and they had these 'two dvds that no one wants packaged together' thing. mostly, like, two julia roberts, two thrillers, two sports movies. whatever. but! they had labyrinth and dark crystal packaged together, so we got those. and what's essentially the dvd of american beauty, with all the bonus material, on two vhs. that was only $5. goodbye, cash-only budget.

sparkly_girls always has a pick-me-up. and lm's rightclickchick isn't to be sneezed at either. i'm going to fill up the hard drive fast if i don't make some icons and delete all these source images.
