my daddy is so cute. in his latest poetry chapbook, he quotes himself at the beginning of each poem--the pseudonym under which he used to write poetry when he was in college.

i'm cleaning out my room and found a bunch of journals going as far back as first grade. ninth and fifth grades are particularly appalling. you don't even want to know how i used to spell geologist.

and i found my 10th grade notebook decorated with mini bumper stickers (i.e., printed with dot-matrix printer on mailing labels). (ufos are real. the airforce doesn't exist.) ahh, the 10th grade sense of humor! back to room-cleaning.
