thanks to [livejournal.com profile] thelionforreal am developing huge fascination with sociopathic gay mastermind criminals leopald and loeb. apparently there's a new movie. they're evidently so in love, and even apparently monogamously committed and whatnot while at the same time utterly chillingly sociopathic--in that particularly chilling way where they're very intelligent and seem to be not in the least abnormal, except for that thing about having no sense of wrongdoing.

fascinating. perhaps just one wire snipped somewhere.

Did you ever read any of the written stuff about them? It's an extremely amazing case. I read "Compulsion", a BRILLIANT novelization by Meyer Levin when I was younger than you are (about sixteen) - probably the first thing I ever read that was "slashy" (not that that word existed in 1966) but, even without the vocabulary, I was completely obsessed. U of A library might have that book -- I know it has a couple of others, and you can always use inter-library-loan.
To tie this all together with something, they killed Bobby Franks but one of the people they considered killing was Billy Shan (who became William Shawn, long time editor of the New Yorker and father of Wallace Shawn, the exhileratingly indelible Grand Nagus from DS9).
I like that L&L site.

they're so explicit it's not even just slashY like most canons. i guess that might not have made the novelization, though. getting forcibly separated by their fraternity for being caught in the same bed! heeeh.
