if you spent like three weeks reading and messing with screencaps and watching and squeeing about one fandom you would do this too.* "dr. pierson." dude. i want to see methos dressed as a proper professor. modernly, not from the 90s (shudder). right out of land's end. how about: dark denim on the teal side of blue; a fine-gauge fitted cream-colored sweater with a high v-neck; a brown corduroy blazer with suede patches at the elbows.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmh.

:eyes glaze:

or a baby-cable cashmere and flat front, straight-legged twill slacks.

or fine pin-striped wool dress pants and an oxford shirt, one that fit. maybe... light blue.

it's like porn, only with WAY more clothes.

*provided you're also the kind of person who thinks about clothes.

that would be delicious. mmmm. i have been tempted on more than one occaision to splurge for the box sets because of methos.

(i think one of the best parts of highlander is the crossoverness, like the X2 stories where methos was working in the facility--because the actor, of course, played a role.)

i know nothing of the crossoverness except for sentinel crossovers which i have avoided. and i didn't know who peter wingfield was when i saw x2. i guess i have to watch it again sometime.

hm, well then. perhaps this is something that amuses me because i'm inclined to be amused by the six-degrees style of movie connections.

i'm really only interested in methos with mac, so crossovers make me wary. also there's the fact they usually suck...

I always amuse myself imagining Sherlock Holmes in modern clothes. It amuses me, because I can find clothing for neither him nor Watson.

try britishising them, perhaps. they're extremely english, you know. but it's hard because the social structures of the period were so much more rigid, their dress so much dictated by it. the fact that holmes cared so little about that kind of thing probably means he'd be walking around with mismatching shoes and socks all the time.

hm. feeling around, my brain just gave me jeremy brett in a plain gray heather long-sleeved t-shirt and a pair of dark slacks, maybe navy. and again in an oversized blue and white windowpane plaid shirt unbuttoned over a t-shirt (the latter a preppy look that i hate, but i fear he might do it). maybe he'd order freakishly over-practical clothes from catalogs. now i see him in tevas. fake-khakis made of ripstop nylon with extra pockets, not long enough in the leg. he'd get distracted and run out without an insulating layer in the middle of the night and watson would take off his own sweater and make him wear it.

i'm picturing them in... rural new mexico, where my grandfather lives. but i have no idea why.

i don't know if you know what the nights are in the mountainous desert region of new mexico but you definitely don't want to be without a sweater.

i bet he wears wool socks under his tevas. i bet he belongs to the sierra club.

K, you lost me there, I'm afraid. Sierra club? I know of no such thing. :(

explore, enjoy, and protect the planet! (http://www.sierraclub.org/) they have giant meetings--i don't know if it's one a year or if they have regions or what--and, like, hundreds of people camping, different teachers (from among the membership) doing different kinds of courses (or whatever you call them)--canoeing and different hikes and things--which they sign up for. they get window stickers in their cars and. wear t-shirts and carry canvas bags with the logos. they donate money to environmental charities. i guess it's a kind of interest group.

my grandpa is that sort of person.

and, like, holmes would be attending these little courses. he would stop in the middle of heating the kettle in the fire to examine a bug, and he would tell watson after a little lecture on hawks or ferns or what have you that it was interesting but, naturally, 50% based on an incorrect premise and the man's whole approach was wrong. he would say watson could consult his own small monograph on the subject.
