tomorrow by [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound takes the groundhog day thing, explicit ref.s and all, and runs with it. my feeling is that you could do a better job of g.d. but that this story is quite delightful, despite that feeling of having had to listen to a moral with which you may emerge. or you might be slightly confused about what the moral was.

Ooo, oooo! I would love for you to explain to me what you meant here, because I happen to be growing more and more unhappy with the fic for many many reasons, and even though I'm glad people like it, and I'm really honored that you thought it was good enough to merit a mention, I'd really like to be able to hear more criticism about it.

So thanks for reading it and reccing it, and if yeah... if you had a minute to spare to let me know more about what you didn't like about it, I would be forever grateful. :-)

i'd be happy to chat with you if you have aim or y!m or msn m and would like to give me your sn--mine is cimthing.

basically, it's hard to avoid the feeling of the moral with groundhog day because it's a story about how he was doing the wrong thing, and when he finally gets it 'right,' he doesn't have to do it over anymore. in the movie it was making it the perfect day or something. and in your story, it sort of seemed like it was... well... at first it seemed to be moving towards the idea that the magic combination was, like, coming to terms with how important billy was to him--accepting it, and going on with life (in that there's some material about how he stopped trying so hard with the other stuff, but still tried some damage control vis a vis liv's dress, etc), but still being billy-wanting.

also, there seems to be that sense throughout the beginning that he's moving towards the right thing (also like the movie), but i guess it strengthened the expectation that there was going to be an *answer.* then there's the panic before billy comes--which is sweet and a little romantic. but it distracted me from that idea of the moral somewhat. and then the ending came before i had time to make up my mind entirely what it was about.

(however, much applause for not over-doing the ending. the happy note without the choirs of angels singing while they kiss and declare love or whatever--which is what you could expect in many slash stories.)

Ooo, I'd love to chat about it! Especially since I think I get your point, and... yeah. I belive one of the main reasons why this story doesn't satisfy me is because I feel a bit confused by it. Not because I don't know what I wanted to get ot, but because it feels like the ending comes either rushed or unexpected, and like you said, without enough time to really know what the morla is about. I think I know why Dom breaks out of his loop, but I have a feeling I've failed to make it clear for the readers.

But thanks for answering my questions, and if you're on now, I am too and wouldn't mind discussing this a bit further. :-) My AIM name is Crazybutsound, originally enough, lol.
