banana bread and zucchini bread with nuts are supposed to have PECANS, motherfucker. not BLACK WALNUTS. ick ick ick. also, zucchini bread isn't supposed to contain bananas, and neither banana bread NOR zucchini bread are supposed to have applesauce, and also this tastes suspiciously salty.

weh. i am itchily undecided, having slept till almost noon after a brief bout with wakefulness this morning. finished story yesterday. i can't submit it anywhere until it's edited, though, and meanwhile i've just spent $100 i couldn't spare. i need to make money. i was going to paint shelves this afternoon, but then bev and dave's plumber called, wanting me to be available to let him into their house this afternoon. i mean, yeah, i did tell them they could give him my phone number, so i suppose i can't bitch about it TOO much, after all. but then again, it's supposed to be second choice and he was supposed to get the work done yesterday, when their neighbors would be free to let him in. so now how am i supposed to do work if i can't leave? i suppose i just should have told him i was going to be busy.

it's also hot in here. maybe i'll go work for my dad tomorrow. screw the plumber. and bev and dave had better be giving me a really big tip.

i've been housesitting for a month now, and not once yet have i forgotten, not even enough to make me late.

the way insulin shots work--for cats--is that you give it to them only if they've eaten. if he stops eating you're supposed to skip the shot until he starts eating again. today i'm half an hour too late for the shot--the first day slate has skipped a meal, and thus wouldn't require one anyway.

freaky.

the headache has been fading gradually for a while now and is not yet completely gone. i think the peanut butter and chocolate icecream i had after dinner might have done something to aggravate it.

also, i already had actual tickets in my hand and all, but today i printed out the e-tickets as well. i now have ALL of the tickets in their little express mail envelope at the back of my desk. they smile at me whenever i look at them. and it's so exciting that it's scary. actually going, actually going. eee!

SO...

my dog is evidently gay and has a crush on marmalade, the cat next door. (don't remember who marmalade is?) the affection is naturally mutual, although so far they haven't gotten beyond flirting and the occasional kiss. what can i say? they're both young.

actually, all three of us are going to run away together and live in sin in a little cottage. if we can afford the plane fare we're going to pick up wax_jism on the way, because you wouldn't want to elope to a cottage without her. i dunno about the sheep yet, though. one thing's for sure: marmalade and perry are bound to be more agreeable than dom and lijah. also less talkative, and smaller. although possibly they would have more fleas.
