cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (sad)
my little sister, who may well be the cutest creature in creation under the age of 25 (note that this excludes the light of my life), has two hotmail addresses under pseudonyms. she's 10. does she, you ask, NEED a pseudonym? no. her name is lillian (and her cuteness can be found at [livejournal.com profile] cuddlepint). the email addresses belong to isabella lowry and nancy cooper! she signs all her emails now

~£Lillian£~

through the mysterious workings of some cuteness previously unknown to mankind.

further, i am given to understand that despite three weeks in italy, they are not going to see venice. i wanted a photo of the bridge of sighs, but i guess i'll settle for some postcards.

my goodness, [livejournal.com profile] mamahooch on aim! made my morning. (she's NEVER there.)

somehow, i got up four hours before i had to be at class and managed to spend NONE of that time doing the required reading. it's just barely possible that i'm neurotic.

::covers ears and hums:: no work! no work!

because a ghetto love is a real love and a ghetto pomegranate is indisputably a real one, here is also a gip. i'm novelizing persephone and hades right now. and i'm also writing this luscious sirius/remus. and anyway, they ALL combined in explosive fashion to make this icon. more pomegranates waiting in the wings for when this one gets worn out. love is madness, i tell you, pure and unadulterated! insanity is the only explanation. poor 14-yo sirius and remus. ::pets them::

tee hee

followed a link in my own journal to that of la femme [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism and browsed her past entries and comment-bombed her. am SO 14 years old. unfortunately am not getting as much action as sirius and remus, either at 14 or at 26.

er, make that thirty-six.

i need a new balrog's angels icon. have been working on this all morning and am no closer. now i get dressed. class, lunch, shopping for outlet thingies. ::yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn::

the harry potter section of my recs page was updated yesterday or the day before and i forgot to mention it. nothing exciting, just the new ones by [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism and [livejournal.com profile] resonant8 that everyone's already read and [livejournal.com profile] thelionforreal's [porcelain], which maybe fewer people have, but everyone should. well, so, maybe it is exciting? ::shrug:: also, for more pimpage, the illustrious te has started a recs blog (we read crap so you don't have to), with frequent updates whenever one of the pages on the list (quite extensive) is updated and the details (how many, what fandom)--so this could be quite useful to some.

i've been awake for five hours and i haven't done ANYTHING, not a single fucking thing. lunch and then i'm going to walk downtown in search of a hardware store. ::kisses:: to those who don't get enough of them.

[livejournal.com profile] daisy_gamgee posted this bit of doggerel, "on flames."

and i hate her icon too.

edit: a sample:
I can't control the ire.
I can't hold back the folks
who want to throw THoU in the fire.
I can control the story.
I can choose which lines to pitch.
I can say: If you don't like it,
just hit *delete*. Don't bitch
at me because you squick.

the kerfluffle, folks, has now reached--dare we shrink from the term--debacle proportions. it's gone for a few weeks, it's grown a tail, and people are going after the innocent impartial journalists.

edit: i was wrong. cim's an idiot. the poem has not been taken down and the 'lesson learned' post came before it.

1. this one posted. summary: she shouldn't have posted the poem and allowed it to fall into the wrong hands. excerpt:
Lesson Learned: *NEVER* hand over one single strand of my personal power to anyone who could not possibly have my best interests at heart.

2. soon after that, [livejournal.com profile] daisy_gamgee cooled down a bit and posted this. summary: she feels guilty when she loses her temper, which is why this is hard for her. but she thinks she should stop feeling guilty because she has the right to lose her temper. (i agree completely. don't feel guilty, dear.) of course, my interpretation isn't closed to debate. excerpt:
I'm finding, too, that I canNOT keep righteous anger going. Just can't. ... Note to self: let it out a little at a time, and keep your boundaries intact. You don't have to pretend it doesn't bother you.

3. [livejournal.com profile] daisy_gamgee posted the poem excerpted below in this morning's update. summary: she can't control criticism, but she can control the story. if you don't like it, don't read it.

4. i posted this morning's update.

5. [livejournal.com profile] thechaosdiva posted [half-]jokingly in reply to my update that she wanted to throw not thou into the fire, but [livejournal.com profile] daisy_gamgee herself.

6. this thread sprang up from my post o' the morning between, initially, Miss Gamgee and Miss Chaos. quickly other things transpired, namely, i affixed my tiara more firmly and stepped briefly into the fray. basically (and we switch to the present tense becasue cim is more comfortable there):

-claire was offended indirectly by the kerfluffle, as her friends were hurt by it.
-daisy thinks that if claire's friends were guilty, it was with reason. and she can't control her fans.
-claire explains that people are afraid of daisy's fans.
-daisy says that she responds to polite criticism and takes into account constructive criticism but that she was originally upset because of the impolite* and non-anonymous* character of the post.
-i point out that the politeness of the post was debatable and that it would have been anonymous if the ip address hadn't been traced.
-daisy sees that she should waste no more time explaining to me.
-i write this little essay on etiquette in the world of fandom queens. it numbers among its points some advice about grace and level-descending. (daisy takes my advice with a quite graceful, 'as i said, i shan't pursue it'! she descended not one whit, although she forgot to pretend she hadn't noticed, i think.)

i present to you the current state of affairs in my confuzzled brain re: marauder-era sirius/remus first kiss.

after their first kiss--which remus instigated!--remus is still stalking away, cause i haven't written any more. ripping off both the damned scarves. poor confuzzled sirius trailing after him...

now, what sirius is thinking isn't important because 1. he doesn't think and 2. remus pov, ne. so!

remus is pissed because he is mad at himself for losing control, and he's just generally mad at sirius for being clueless, eminently fuckable/lickable, and careless of the feelings of others. and then he's all hormone-y and barely knows what he's thinking. sex is like (besides riding a bike) violence. for remus, i mean. cause once it comes out it gets all intense and shit.

so he has to stalk away to avoid biting sirius's neck a lot more right there against the wall, for one thing, and for another, he just doesn't know, alright?! but it would definitely be a Bad Idea.
