this morning i was feeling very frustrated so i made a bloody!background out of a fabulous 'rar' picture of wet!madonna i got at rightclickchick.

okay, but i'm looking at it and... i just don't know. maybe try again. different picture, of course. what do you think? is it ( overdone? )

night-time shenanigans of paxil

last night my brain my brain on paxil favored me with an eight-hour rendition of frank zappa's 'sex' and a dream about visiting a museum which included a waterpark and 'model' of the ocean with a beach, all located inside a life-size realistic model of a brontosaurus. they had little boats in the ocean too. you could wade across it; it was a bit larger than a big swimming pool.

and since i know hardly any of the lyrics to 'sex' it's just like 'the bigger the cushion, the better the pushin!' over and over... um. haha.

our dentist sent us a florist's basket of goodies. ::attacks a nature valley peanut butter granola bar:: mmm. nature valley granola bars are WAY too yummy for their own good.

i tipped over the mug of water i heated for tea and poured hot water (not boiled, thank god, only heated for 1 min 20 seconds) over my hand. it's like a mild-to-bad sunburn, not turning red, just feeling sort of... on fire, on the back of my hand a bit and a bit on the palm.

i want to write because i feel frustrated and violent. i want to push some words around, manipulate them, force them into exactly the shape i want. that would be satisfying. but lately i have been approaching my own writing as if it had an unapproachable mystique, which isn't possible. you aren't supposed to be afraid of yourself.

dinner

so i go into the kitchen to make dinner. my thought is, maybe we have chicken noodle soup. i kneel down next to the island.

there's a miniature ant colony. i swear it was not there this morning*. the trail of marching ants is not even solid yet. so, okay, what kills ants? cinammon. my mom has hand-ground it so it's in a glass jar without that handy sprinkler top. i pour it into my hand. i drop pinches on the ants, randomly. whenever a sizeable amount lands on an ant it freezes but this is not really a good, workable method of ant removal.

i know nothing about ant baits.

so i end up squirting them with orange fantastik and wiping the mess** up with paper towels. okay! score. time for dinner. there's no canned soup in either place i check. we have ramen noodles but i don't want ramen noodles. in a snit, i exit the kitchen.

moping on the couch, however, doesn't satisfy hunger, so i make a second sortie. didn't we have some flavored creamcheese? i open the refridgerator. the plastic package i thought was creamcheese is in fact flavored parmesan. oops. the tomato is a rotten mess. i don't feel like taking out the trash so i leave it there.

back into the living room. still hungry. back into the kitchen.

there is nothing to eat without preparation. there are plenty of olives and artichoke hearts, which look fabulous, but require like making pasta and making sauce. so i end up with one of those little partly-done packets, you know, rice a roni. twenty minutes, some sauteeing. it could be worse.

but i'm really hungry.

*but hey, i did just pick up a granola bar from the gift basket and leave again, not really look around.
