viva_gloria, is really really fun.
+dilbert! first, scott adams pokes a wee bit of fun at the vegans. then a disgruntled vegan makes a (humorless) parody. then someone else makes a parody of the parody. all the fun can be found in this post at
dilbert_feed.
+my mom had life-threatening appendicitis at 15. i've heard her horror story so many times that any time i have any abdominal pain that's not 100% expected (i.e., it's after the third day of my period--the pain usually stops faster), i get paranoid. ieee! what if i have appendicitis! what if i have to go to the hospital and THEY MAKE ME EAT JELL-O?
+went out this morning and it was not yet 70* F. fuuuck. that's like freezing in my book. i wore flannel pj pants, shearling slippers, and one of daddy's long-sleeved cotton button-downs to drive the
cuddlepint to school (and almost ran out of gas leaving the driveway, and had to go to the shell station, and shell are evil because they laid off my daddy when i was a baby, and then i parked on the wrong side of the pump, but that's another story). and now i'm drinking tea again. well, tea is good.
+my hair is in desperate need of a trim, and i would greatly enjoy the catharsis of hacking at it randomly, but mommy took ALL THE SCISSORS except a little pair of fiskars to atlanta. bugger. observe:

eta: now they work
( three more because i'm vain and silly. )
+eta: i really LIKE the new lj site skin (although not so new, as i've been using the in-testing version for months). i've hated the old one from the beginning. so there.

i just read, if you can believe it, a reincarnation will/jack fic in which they flashback to their past selves during sex. they both seem to be ACCOUNTANTS. oh. my. god.
"Well, yes." He paused, then said, "Will, do you believe in past lives?"
"You mean, did I an hour ago, or do I now?"
"Good answer. Me too."
unclean! UNCLEAN! >.

daddy made it back into town and is about two blocks away at a rather cramped and musty-smelling hotel with beds that aren't really handicapped-accessible. the first time we can look at three-bedroom apartments is next week. when lillian tentatively tried to find out from mom whether we could all go see potc tomorrow (requires calling for a big wheelchair van to pick dad up) mom said "i'm writing lesson plans and you're cleaning the house"--not promising. well, we'll see. daddy can't get into this house; the room is miniscule, though it may gain a computer soon. i'm to be with daddy during the day when mommy is at school, and after we move into the apartment that will be at home, but in the meanwhile it looks like it may mean no internet for the majority of each day.
