i like trudy west (her ouvre i mean) and i respect this story, alternate, but i'm just not enjoying it. it seems very good, very solemn, in some sense stretching to be truly romantic. but at the same time the symbolism creates a--the schism in obi-wan feels off. a false schism, if you will. i don't know. it seems wrong to me, very wrong. it would be like if deanna had gotten together with thomas riker in the end--just wrong.

this one was a trial to read, but i think it was worth it in the end.

today we went shopping, and acquired a beautiful red cherry sleigh bed for me. queen size.

then we went out to dinner at the outback steakhouse, which is a chain with fairly good cheeseburgers and extremely good dessert. i stuffed myself and left half the burger for the dog. and there was a long wait, and i voluntarily entered a conversation with some strangers! my mom was already talking to them, so it wasn't as brave as might be. but it was pretty brave. mom and dad tried to pat me on the head about it. at that point, i was too hungry to be interested.

bed! beautiful, beautiful bed. ohh the wood is so pretty. i'm totally and completely in love with it.
