david burke was cuter and younger but... i just couldn't help it! i fell in love with hardwicke! and so i made three icons with him instead.

i loved 'lost without' so much though that i tried and tried to duplicate it with various source images, and in the end i ended up having to cut and paste because i couldn't find another of those sexy holmesian brow-quirks. and watson looks weird because i couldn't get the contrast high enough--every time i tried it washed his face out completely into this white mask. actually there was just no depth to begin with. i had to contour it with an airbrush. (the others are more colorful and pretteh.)

writing. hum.

hollsk, you're on vacation already? noooooooooooooooooooo have fun! seriously. ahem.

so i started to write snippets of samurai!daniel stargate yesterday at the request of southpaw526. this was an idea the actor himself had at a con. said he'd like to see fic--of course i doubt he would want to see slash fic, which is what naina asked for. so unfortunately, i haven't studied japanese for a year, and haven't read the tale of murasaki by liza dalby (a historical novel biography of lady murasaki, the courtier who wrote the tale of genji, which was the world's first novel) for years. tom would be my major source, though. it tells all about heian life--it's a really excellent novel for atmosphere, and actually, it's an excellent novel overall. it's just, you know, i don't feel like re-reading it just now. fortunately, the places through the stargate don't need to be exact duplicas of historical eras since they're not time-travel, but other societies which can have evolved in a similar fashion... .

i have writing energy lately. other than this, i'm torn. i've got k/s and shatner/nimoy which have been percolating literally for years. and sherlock holmes. hmmmmmm.
