Hello! I liked this fic. I really liked Inui. I liked that Tezuka didn't like Wuthering Heights! I also liked when Ryoma called Tezuka back to kiss him.

(Aja: ImageImageImage ME TOO.)

Also, thumbs up for Tezuka beating Ryoma. Image I also liked the bit about Ryoma translating the mystery to Momo and Kaidoh. And I liked Inui hanging up on Tezuka. I liked Tezuka carrying his phone everywhere waiting for Ryoma's call. I also liked Karupin meowing at Tezuka. Aja says Tezuka is melodramatic and beautiful Image, but I think he is just a dork.

In conclusion, this was very well done and I liked it a lot.

I am done with my review now. Goodbye!

Oh. My. Goodness. I am so very blown away and am resisting the urge to quote your entire fic at you, because that was love.

Oh, TezuRyo. ♥

Oh, Tezuka, with the slips of paper, and Ryoma, so much with the adoration, and and and.

And it's not just them; all of the other characters are fantastic, too, Fuji with the pepper and the incest in the Gothic romances, perhaps I am reading too much into it, but oh, and the InuKai, and Tezuka not hanging up on Inui ♥ So much stuff I loved in this fic. So much.

But especially this

He took that game, and the next, and then Echizen abandoned his Zone to force Tezuka into tiebreak, and by the time he won Tezuka could hardly breathe from the heat and pressure of seeing and feeling his tennis and Echizen's tennis mated so organically on the court. He knew they could never have played like this at the school or the public courts.

Because their tennis is intimate like that, and you captured it so perfectly and... thank you for writing this, yes, thank you so very much. ♥ ♥

um... hi! i suck at responding to really flattering reviews. but this made me smile a lot and i appreciated all your comments ♥♥ and aölkjfdaösj about the tennis, because, thank you. i hate writing tennis because i have no idea what i'm doing, but i realised i needed to run with the whole tennis=sex thing there at the end.

as for the incest in gothic romances, that was just tezuka's personal comment on wuthering heights. i suppose it's one of many gothic tropes, but i don't think it's a defining feature of the genre. :)

Oh my god. So good. I don't know what else to say but I am about ten times happier after having read this than I was before. I will point out that my favourite part was probably cuddling while doing homework, though (omgggg the cute). And it amazes me that I felt that knot in my chest, just like Tezuka, at the same bloody times Tezuka did, and it felt just like you described it, and...

That's gotta be some pretty powerful stuff, there. And it was.

Oh! And I loved Ryoma's variation of the Zone - it fits him perfectly and guh. *__*

Love, love, love. ♥

I just wanted to say that I really quite enjoyed this. Was sent here via [livejournal.com profile] bookshop

I liked the way that Tezuka and Inui organsied a truce, the way that he felt that it would be against the terms of the truce to hang up, at least, straight away.

It was fun seeing the books, Fuji popping up and Ryouma's grin at the end.

THough I have to wonder, what did he do with all those bookmarks. *g*

thank you for the review! the comedy and crack elements of tenipuri are definitely some of my favourite parts. i was kind of indulging myself by sticking them in this fic even though it kept wanting to be serious, but oddly enough it seemed to all balance out in the end. :)

I really love it when my friends post really long stories. Sure, it makes me unproductive and I appear worthless and distracted, but...who cares?

I really love the way you write Tezuka/Ryoma. All your characterizations are so, so good and you always seem to capture some little feeling, especially in scenes that are not intended to be monumental ones. I really enjoy your writing. *hugs*

I liked the easy pace of this story and how sweet they both are. ♥ So good.

i appreciate your comments about characterisation - of course i think about it a lot, but it's always nice to have my opinions reinforced from outside. :)

This is all kinds of awesome, oh my god! I loved that you used Inui to get them together in the first place, I loved the Wuthering Heights bits, I loved Tezuka writing on Ryoma's arm (Gods...♥), but most of all I loved THIS:

"Buchou," he said. He always lingered on the title, as if to leave space around it for the unspoken remainder of a sentence Tezuka could never fully understand.

and THIS:

the way he said "buchou" as if it were a mark of familiarity, like Tezuka's first name, instead of a title.

That's so perfect! I've been smiling ever since I read this fic, thank you! ♥

i love inui, and he was demanding to be allowed to be a fuji ex machina for once. also, i felt a little guilty about fuji always having that role... although as you see he didn't escape it entirely. i just love him too much that way. XD i'm glad you share my ryoma-saying-buchou kink. i guess most fans of this pairing probably do, but still, i just never get tired of it. ♥ thanks for your feedback!

Excellent. A singularly satisfying read. I admire that you were able to so effortlessly make both Ryoma and Tezuka believable characters. Tezuka especially, since he is the narrator, has this matter-of-fact-ness to him that really moves the story along. He does everything with such an easy confidence that even when he's being a complete, lovestruck dork, it probably doesn't occur to him that there's an easier way to go about wooing Echizen. He makes being a spazz look dignified. It's very refreshing to read a Tezuka whose restraint is not a monumental crisis, but merely a personality trait. Also, one who is not the source of his own kabuki-esque postmodern tragedy. ^_^

That Echizen NEVER looked at the bookmarks was . . . well, it was very Echizen. Dorks in love. <3

ahhahahahahah! thank you so much for this thoughtful review. i loved your comments. i think that you're really right about tezuka, and that - i mean, his totally earnest dryness - is what makes him so much fun to write as a point of view character, even when i also struggle with it. "he makes being a spazz look dignified." hahahahah. as for postmodern tragedy, i think it's easy to see how tezuka falls into that. he's just so naturally angsty! this story was supposed to be crack, but it hardly took three paragraphs for tezuka to start feeling soul-crushing angst. luckily he has ryoma around to prevent that from continuing indefinitely. ♥

Oh, this was so lovely! So much fluff, but also a lot of depth of emotion. I love how you write Tezuka. He is very srict, with high expectation, and so in love, which makes him so canon. This is the way Tezuka would have a crush on Ryoma, and gah, you killed me with all the slits of paper and Tezuka never giving up, sure that it must have been lost and not ignored. And lol at how he wrote it on his arm SO YOU WON'T LOSE IT, oh Tezuka. Gah, and Ryoma cuddling and forcing Tezuka to put his arm around him... you can just feel all that chemistry between them. They are such t00bs in love.

But the best part has to be the matches. I love it when writers keep the tennis theme because in TezuRyo it just can't be ignored. And you did it so well too, the way they know each other better through tennis, how they spend time together in the court. I don't think someone like Tezuka or Ryoma could get to know someone any other way. I love Inui too, I just love how he pesters Tezuka. And then he gives him the math book. Oh, Inui!

Funniest scene: Kikumaru worrying over murders and Fuji appearing out of nowhere. How I love thee!

You make me love this pairing. Thank you!

thank you! i have a great weakness for fluff which usually causes it to creep in even in the angstiest places, but in this story it was really the other way around - a crack bunny that just kept growing and growing and, thanks to the tezuka pov, turned perversely solemn. i think the cuddling is another thing that is mainly there because i love cuddling, so i'm glad it seemed to work. also, i think ryoma is totally a cuddler. just look at him with karupin. :X

as for the tennis matches, this part of your feedback really means the most to me, since i find them sort of agonising to write and i hate doing it. unfortunately, you're right that tennis is so intrinsic to their relationship - you certainly can't get away with no tennis at all, and actually consummating their love (*cough* - symbolically, of course) on the tennis court is practically necessary when they're still so close to canon.

ps. fuji appearing out of nowhere is my favourite scene too. :)

There was a little pause. Then, "Buchou." Echizen's voice was low, but with the phone right next to Tezuka's ear he made it out easily. "Can you come back?" he asked in a rush.

Just a note, I saw a type in this paragraph:

"Tezuka looked at his watch. "I'll be there in eight minutes." He was already retracing is steps. The blocks went by quickly but the minutes slowly, even though he was at the end of Echizen's block in seven."

But other than that minuscule thing, this fic is <3
