My sister just came and asked me if I knew the symptoms of concussion because when she was taking a shower, the detachable shower head slipped free and hit her on the head and now it hurts. That wouldn't be hilarious if I had even the slightest fear that she were really concussed, I promise.

Also she went to one of her high school's football games tonight. On purpose. To hang out. Oh, for the love of little green boxes with lids, not in my family! On second thought, should I friendslock this? I don't want just anyone to know this sort of embarrassing material about me, do I?

Dad and I were in agreement, but we restrained ourselves when in her presence. Also she went to school in her pyjamas today, but I know that's not socially unacceptable around here, exactly. At least, there was always someone at school doing it... but still. She hangs out with people who WANT to hang out at a football game.

Dude. I had a classmate last quarter who came in after being gone for a week and then came back in with a neck brace and giant bump on her head. Her explanation was simple enough, "A TV fell on my head."

First time I'd actually met anybody who was ever concussed. With objects from above, anyway. Can't say it's that common, is it?

I've never heard of anyone I knew personally getting one at least. My sister didn't, though. It was just a plastic one. The TV definitely wins. I wonder if someone had thrown it out a window or something.

Heh. The TV flying out of a window was definitely my first mental image as well. Turns out she was at a well-known restaurant's bar and the metal hinge holding a large TV somehow broke, so the thing came tumbling down on her randomly in the middle of dinner. She was seriously out of commission for a couple of weeks and is having neck problems a couple months later, so could probably sue for a lot. Which, considering how the pain and meds are affecting her work, school and everything in between, is not unreasonable at all. Makes me think twice about going to sports bars these days.
