i feel as though i've gotten nothing done in the past few days. yesterday all went coding two websites, [naina's spot] (still not finished and still no content) and [exquisite], the tried and true home of my nsync slash, which now has what i believe is the best layout i've done. today came back from class, chatted and ate some icecream and revamped my friends list and chatted some more.

do they study linguistics in finland? in classes taught in english?

i found my lightbulbs.

and i was social.

last year we learned about living with boys that, while it may be adviseable to have a sign in the bathroom (attention! please do not leave undergarments in the bathroom), such a sign is not necessarily efficacious.

so today for 9/11 the rc brought coffee icecream and i chatted with two of the senior guys in the living room for a bit.

then i was in my room and smelled burning, and it kept getting stronger, so i followed my nose out of my room and down the hall sniffing inquisitively. ummmmm, lessee, empty room, no, carlo's, no--they were both in one room, chatting.

cim: are you burning things?
both: yes.
hispanic boy: well, actually, we were.
tall boy: we're not any more.
hispanic boy: well, actually, we were boiling water. because he wanted tea.
cim: ::tries not to laugh:: ah-hah.
tall boy: ::broods::
hispanic boy: but apparently there was, like, something on the burner--
smoke: ::wreathes the room::
smell: ::does not abate::
cim: so you don't have a... coffeemaker.
tall boy: ::is so surprised by suggestion that he jumps::
hispanic boy: no. unfortunately.

when people say, 'oh, you have a website, what is it about--just--stuff about you?'

what do you answer?

1. yes, basically.
2. eh ::mumble::
3. actually, i wrote gay porn under a pseudonym.

(because today i did #1, but i'm now thinking #3 is cooler and i may go with that in future.)

and i'll have to go--

1. skipped logic yesterday because can take the notes faster on my own.
2. skipped japanese today because i haven't done the homework and in class i won't have the chance to. will do both now, i presume...
3. coded webpages instead of working all week, and
4. my favorite aunt and uncle are coming to see me this weekend. there will be no contra-dancing, but i will get to meet [livejournal.com profile] fuschia, hopefully.
5. when i get home today i need to start writing.

my novel for novel writing is going to be a meta-novelization of the myth of hades and persephone transposed onto a grungy near-future with a lot of twists. persephone is going to be mostly but not entirely sane and she is going to be both herself and hecate (which i see some support for in mythology and the evolution of myth--). i'm thinking that there's going to be more than one version of hades too, in a time-travel sense.

anyone fascinated by this myth, please give me your thoughts on it. i'm struggling with my intended themes just now.

and lastly, i love [livejournal.com profile] wax_jism sometimes more than life itself. this is nothing new. what's surprising is that my affection isn't greatly lessened by her having gotten a job... something of a relief, though.

somewhere, someone is very surprised to be in hell--well. not anymore, but i'm sure they were originally quite astonished--because they invented dish-washing.

this is a HUGE crime.

i'm going to make like 60-80 a week for somewhere under 10 hours of this--but my poor poor hands--i can barely type. the dishes weren't really DIRTY at my point in the line--they were steaming hot and moving by fast on a conveyer and i had to sort them and take them out. they burned my fingers so my hands were pink. they were also wet so my hands are pruned, and partly white, and later numb, with the skin starting to peel, and later when i was sorting the clean silverware everywhere the edges of the knives and forks and even just the sides of the handles touched my skin it hurt.

which is going to start in the middle of the persephone/hades myth with her trying to fall out of love with him. (because in my personal idea of it, he couldn't keep her if she didn't love him somehow. isn't a pomegranate a sexual fruit? yes. so. yes.)

i'm sorry that I left you with your questions all alone, but I was too happy driving and too angry to drive home
i was thinking about the easy courage of my distant friends--
they said i could let this bridge wash out and never make amends

can i blow this small town? make a big sound like the star of a film noir postcard
can i just forget the frames i shared with you?

and I can't believe what they're saying--they're saying i can change my mind,
start over on spring street, i'm welcome anytime

i'm not saying this is a deep thought, but it's an idea i've been stalking around the recesses of my subconscious for a few weeks and today holls and i tackled it.

it's going in the novel.

[livejournal.com profile] hollsk: Its hard to say....being in love is different for everyone

that's one of those magical things about it. love is a new thing that you build between the two of you out of pieces of yourselves.

everyone who falls in love invents it on the spot, every time.

and wouldn't it be nice if [livejournal.com profile] ninglor transferred somewhere very close to me? ::crosses fingers:: ee! fun!
