sometimes there's something so nice about talking on the phone to someone you love. a disembodied voice belonging to someone special is just--hypnotic. which is not to say i don't pay attention. i've never met anyone as funny as holls before, and i love her to pieces.

[livejournal.com profile] ninglor is visiting the last weekend in september, and we'll have to find time for fun stuff. i'm going to try to twist her arm into contra dancing--it's my mission to convert the world. i've already convinced [livejournal.com profile] mcee, but i'm not sure she'll still try it if i'm not there to dance with. the girl/girl swinging, with the cross-braced arms and one hand up over your head, though--i'm not kidding, it's like fucking flying, it's the BEST.

now i go to bed, after i steal some more nutter butter bites from the kitchen.

why is campbell's soup SO much better than the cafeteria's chicken soup?

when you're making an icon that says 'harlot'? it really helps to spell harlot correctly.

hee.

where's my mothafuckin tea? biotches.

hey and also. [livejournal.com profile] bananasrock rocks! she lives in israel and she hooks ghetto princesses up with the hebrew songs they can't remember properly (dayenu, anyone? for even if he had done all these [insert bible stuff that he didn't really do] it would not have been sufficient. enu, hotzee, hotzee rayim... not that i can spell hebrew... but yeah. and she's giving me a font too! whoot!)

wheeee.

for [livejournal.com profile] jennaria: western massachussetts slashers over at yahell. clicky clicky. subscribe today. er, there seems to be a large contingent of old starsky/hutch ziners (::cough::[livejournal.com profile] nakedflame::cough::), but they're decent sorts. and we're supposed to have get togethers.

all bow to the mighty [livejournal.com profile] fuschia.

on israel and palestine. sample week in the american media.

monday's news: " for no apparent reason, members of the israeli army crossed into the west bank and ran over some school children! the israeli prime minister says that they can't be expected to play nice when the palestinian terrorists are still bombing people." [[livejournal.com profile] bananasrock: ugh. ughughugh.]

tuesday's news: "today, some a twenty palestinian apartment buildings were demolished by israeli tanks in what the general of the army calls 'an accident--coughcough.' palestinians, somewhat upset, are rioting in the streets." [[livejournal.com profile] bananasrock: I HATE THE ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER]

wednesday's news: "sharon has urged the us, as well as his own secret army lover, to 'bomb the hell out of those stinking palestinians,' citing their recent riots in the streets as evidence that they are animals. 'just don't hit any good jews,' the prime minister said."

thursday's news: "a 'liberal' student group at the israeli university has released a statement detailing why really israel ought to belong to them. 'it says that it was our holy land,' said a spokesperson. 'see, in the bible. right there.'"

friday's news: "president bush was displeased to announce today, which he indicated with a frowny face, that his golfing match with israeli prime minister sharon (who he called 'ari') has had to be postponed due to 'pressing military matters.' 'i didn't inquire what he's doing,' said the president, 'but i'm sure it's important. not that golf isn't important. but sometimes we have to prevaricate our priortizing.' sources in the middle east indicate sharon may be personally supervising the the first deployment of a new israeli genetic weapon designed to cause a 'mostly harmless' disease that would paint a red target on the forehead of every member of the muslim faith. 'it won't hurt a bit,' say doctors, defending the decision. 'this is a major medical advance.'"

i was going to be different. i had this whole black and brown outfit with flared pants under my favorite cinnamon cord skirt from j crew, and a black and white polo shirt, and my cream and rust silk scarf wound all around my head. anyway, it said it was in the 50s on the net but it was hot. i was already late but i stopped to take off pants and socks. ate lunch at the japanese table only because it was crowded (lickable!sensei: anatawa itsu mimasuka? me: ::grinning:: uhhhhm. benkyoo sitaku nai. lickable!sensei: HAHAHA! sugu desune. me: er. hai.)

they were having a fucking poster sale when i went to get my mail. i spent $50 on the following posters.

see the posters and the tshirt my daddy bought me )

and the day just got shittier and i hate myself sometimes. i can't blame the medicine for allowing me to become depressed--it's all external, now, i think. if something happens to depress me i get depressed, and those fuckers having killed my mouse isn't even the worst of today so far. used up phone card talking to dad and god, i need that paycheck, because i have to add more minutes to it and i--.

i don't believe in fate. magic. any diety whatsoever. luck.

i'm afraid to say what i want anyway.

what is the power of a word?

god.

tomorrow.

nathan: your majesty, the mouse died!
me: you killed it!
nathan: we didn't kill it! it just died! it died peacefully in its-- see, this is the problem with americans today. they're so concerned with prolonging life and not with enjoying it--
me: well, i'm sure she enjoyed her last several days in a plastic box.
nathan: ::pauses:: no, we gave her things to play with!
me: uhuh. so why did she die?
nathan: malnutrition, we think.
me: maybe you shouldn't have captured her and put her in a plastic box, you motherassfucking bozo i wonder what a mouse diet has to include. crackers weren't enough.
nathan: we gave her milk.
me: ^.^
nathan: [after an awkward silence] i just thought you'd like to know.
me: rot in hell, bastards it's so sad.

i was taking requests earlier today, and i've fulfilled all of them. there're multiple versions of a few. you're smart. you can figure it out.

so in order of how they were requested--

[livejournal.com profile] girlinthetree: the caption seemed to fit.
[livejournal.com profile] elfiepike: even if megan doesn't speak japanese, she should. she's waiting for her love. :]
[livejournal.com profile] hollsk: rawr.
[livejournal.com profile] shinysparkly: i know you said percy, etc, but yeah. pictures were not easy to find and then i found that one and... it seemed to work a lot better.
[livejournal.com profile] mamahooch: the first one i got from some site of anime fanart--it's supposed to be blossom grown up. interest value; i don't really like it. the second two, well. i ditched your caption because they weren't scowling, but i liked this better than the scowling pictures.

pero todo que entra tendrá que salir y los que están tendrán que partir

[edit: long entry, so, i'll summarize--i want a harry potter icons community. there already is a suitable one. everyone join [livejournal.com profile] hp_graphics.]

naturally, like a good little slasher, i am a member of [livejournal.com profile] lotricons if only for the sake of laughing at the bad ones which are all too frequently posted. but! lotr is SO passé. everyone and i mean everyone is moving into harry potter. the light of my life has a harry potter icon and the best harry/draco ever, the rtw co-bitch and everyone else over there are writing it, [livejournal.com profile] deepsix and [livejournal.com profile] silviakundera (theirloveissocute) are writing and drabbling and iconing it everywhere.

obviously this is the fandom in which to be. ::waves to [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon and [livejournal.com profile] chocolatefrog::

so i was thinking. hp icons. we need an hp icon community. we NEED this. i was all geared up to create one this morning and missi deflated me, so instead i'm saying this to everyone in hp who likes and wants hp icons: join [livejournal.com profile] hp_graphics. join it now. i'm commanding, i'm begging. i want to see the traffic on it go up to match the traffic on [livejournal.com profile] lotricons. i want to make icons and post them there and i want you guys to do that to. i want to peruse them.

finally! a GOOD use for stars and swirls! because they DO represent magic, and the cartoony harry potter magic is much better suited to them (think the gorgeous oil pastels on the us editions, which will forever remain in my head despite the lovely images provided by the actors now) than is lotr magic.

that was a long post. lalala.
