highway 50 by khaleesian,  dom/brian, pg, a self-styled deleted scene from the movie.  neatly done, and nice enough to make me smile.  pace is maybe a little slow, but has a nice cute confused thread running through with dom's pov.

there should be some measurement of the positive energy emitted by a purring kitten, like... 'kittohours.' one kittohour is the amount of purring that makes you feel good enough to erase one hour of stress or unhappiness at the median level of said stress or unhappiness. and then you could be like, 'lily emits three kittohours in just fifteen minutes, or one kh/min.'

tv and music

a while ago, having finished about three hours of bad television*, wax settled down to reading recaps and listening to bad music.  i suspected the quality was no coincidence when enrique iglesias followed "macarthur park." 

"do you have a special playlist of bad songs?" i said incredulously.
"these are all my favorites," she explained.

after that, we may or may not have had a little tussle about "macarthur park."  whatever happened, the result was some downloading, and her sharing the mental image of dumbledore dancing to the breakdown in the middle of the richard harris original. 

*in my view that encompasses almost all of it.  i hate television.  it grates on my nerves, having it in the background.  at home i was the guerrilla volume-lessener and tv-turn-off-er.  i convinced my mom to buy a 27" flatscreen just so the old one could go in my little sister's room and we'd be able to force her to watch her shit where we couldn't hear it.

tea bird!

wax sings 'she'll have fun fun fun till the daddy takes the t-bird away' about half the times i say 'daddy.' as you can possibly imagine i say 'daddy' a whole lot, so we get this song several times a day.

mom used to sing that song when daddy went on trips for work, when i was, you know, two and three.  i always associated 't-bird' with tea.  we were big fans of sun-brewed earl grey in our family.  they kept it around all the time and i was fond of it before i was three, i think.
