cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (sproing)

when arashi's two most shamelessly spoilt, incurably superior and thoroughly sarcastic members are teamed up to do a bunch of infomercials, what could the results possibly be but sheer crack, jun the housewife, and nino flinging tables of edamame beans?

i love the dynamics of jun and nino together (i kind of want to stick them both in something horrible and muddy so we can see them whining, scowling and complaining simultaneously). that's why a whole scene will be lovingly devoted to nino's introduction to the royal crown princess jun in the crack au in which ohno is a sheikh and sho is his bodyguard and nino is the hapless musician sho kidnaps for ohno because he sees him staring covetously at him in the airport.

new advice: don't sit up straight. or slouch, either. lean back! maybe the shoulders back part of it is still true. maybe the optimal healthy posture is reclining with your shoulders back! *image* link from [livejournal.com profile] bibliotech.

also, a us judge ruled that our paper currency discriminates against the blind because the notes are all the same size and texture. “Of the more than 180 countries that issue paper currency,” Judge Robertson wrote, “only the United States prints bills that are identical in size and color in all their denominations.” and typically, the government fought the suit for years with some really ridiculous arguments. link from [livejournal.com profile] isilya.

yesterday daddy emailed me to ask what the name of my school was - you know, the one i've attended for two and a half years now. the one that is named after the city i live in so every package they send me has "ÅBO" written in the address, and i go to åbo akademi.
wax: ...it's like they cannot be taught.
cim: how many conversations have i had with them about the pronunciation of "åbo" alone?

eta: on the serial comma or oxford comma, from the national public radio show a way with words. Finally, we offer this famous dedication, which appeared at the beginning of a book: "To my parents, the Pope and Mother Theresa." Nuff said.

wax's brother dropped by and took us out for sushi. there's a feud in our household because there are two sushi places downtown: a little stall in the market hall staffed by finns who train under finland's main sushi chef in helsinki (which i don't like as much because they put mayonnaise in their norimaki) and a sit-down restaurant owned by a little tiny japanese lady which serves various tofu thingies, rice dishes and onigiri (wax doesn't like their sashimi as well as the market stall's). mece, acting as mediator, declared we would sit down to eat because last time we went to the market stall and i had onigiri at last! after so many months of craving it thanks to mago mago arashi. and it turned out to be the restaurant's birthday today, so then they gave us free icecream with blueberries on it! and also, at last i have a copy of closer.
